Tom Krause

Dr. Thomas R. Krause, PhD is Chairman of the Board for BST, a consulting firm specializing in comprehensive safety solutions.  Since BST’s founding in 1979, Tom has helped thousands of companies worldwide to prepare and implement successful change systems.  He is also actively involved in leadership coaching.  Tom has spoken widely on a multitude of topics at national and international conferences, most recently the Keynote for the NAHQ 2006 in San Diego, CA

Tom has authored several books and articles on safety and leadership.  His most recent book, Leading with Safety (Wiley) appeared in November 2005.  Tom’s most recent articles include “12 Questions Every Director Should Ask about Workplace Safety” (Directors & Boards, Spring 2006) and “A Four-Factor Model for Safety Leadership” (Professional Safety, November 2005). 

Tom is a professional member of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) and the American Psychological Association.  In addition, he is a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Behavioral Analysis in Health, Sports, Fitness and Medicine.

Tom received his Masters of Arts in Liberal Arts from St. John’s College in Santa Fe, NM.  He received his PhD from the University of California at Irvine.  He is a licensed psychologist.
