Daniel Wolf

Dan is Managing Director of the healthcare consulting practice of Dewar Sloan, serving clients across North America. His corporate and consulting experience spans nearly 30 years bringing strategic leadership insights and experience to the conversation on healthcare management and governance. He is the author of Prepared and Resolved, a highly regarded book on strategy. His corporate and consulting work spans healthcare technology and delivery issues, and the evolution of healthcare business in America.

Dan has worked with a wide range of organizations including Vanderbilt, Gore Medical, Schering, Siemens, Stryker, Terumo, Marquette, Herman Miller, LifeSpan, Bausch & Lomb, and Sybron and is a frequent speaker on healthcare innovation and strategic leadership. His work in healthcare innovation, strategy, system development, leadership and governance is backed by research and significant experience in critical areas of growth, performance and change.

Prior to joining Dewar Sloan, Dan served in corporate management positions where his responsibilities included business development, worldwide planning, resource management and strategy research on product and service innovation programs.

Dan serves as a board officer of Munson Healthcare System, based in Traverse City, Michigan. He holds a Fellowship in the Michigan Hospital Association Excellence in Governance Program, through which he has contributed to strategic leadership practices for boards and management. He is an Advisor of the American Hospital Association through the Midwest Regional Policy Board.

Dan has also served as an executive officer with Economic Development organizations and as a board member for several healthcare-related companies. Dan has worked in leadership roles with professional organizations such as the Product Development and Management Association, Association for Corporate Growth, American Marketing Association, and Strategic Planning Society and as a governance and executive educator.

Dan holds a Masters in Business Administration from Michigan State University and has engaged in continuing executive education at Wharton, Michigan, Michigan State and Harvard. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing and Supply Chain Management from Michigan State University.

Dan lives in Traverse City, Michigan with his wife, Julie. Dan enjoys outdoor sports, auto repair for teenage drivers, the fellowship of interesting people, hunting dogs and new ideas.
