Nicklaus Children's Hospital strives to achieve this mission every day by way of its 3,500 medical, administrative and operations staff that span 12 locations.

Journey Toward Total Wellbeing

Nicklaus Children's Hospital relaunched its "Healthy Lifestyles" corporate wellness program in 2013 with a strategic vision of helping its employees and spouses achieve optimal health through an integrated total wellbeing approach. This industry-leading health system partnered with Interactive Health and United Health Care (UHC) to create a strong triad of expertise, resources and experience to improve health and lower the cost of care.

2016 Wellness Program Results

Interactive Health compiled risk migration and aggregate trend data from the employee health evaluations. A cohort population of Nicklaus Children's Hospital participants screened in both 2015 and 2016 were compared to a cohort of over 29,000 Interactive Health healthcare industry client members for the same period. Similar trends were observed in both groups.

  • 90% of members in the "low to no" health risk category remained there
  • 40% of members in the "high risk" health category moved to a lower risk health category

Nicklaus Children's Hospital's aggregate personal health score has remained in the low risk category for the last three years and 72% of the members with the highest risk scores have had the most significant improvements.
