Now, more than ever, a strong ambulatory care network is required for organizational success and the provision of high-value care. Organizations must weave together the full spectrum of inpatient and outpatient services to provide seamless care at the right location, with the right resources, at the right time. A System of CARE (clinical alignment and resource effectiveness) is a clinical and business model that provides seamless care and clinical and informational integration across the care continuum.

Ned has over 25 years of healthcare services experience in supply chain technology, analytics, revenue cycle, pharmacy & supply chain automation and group purchasing.  He is responsible for leading the Vizient Non-Acute team in developing and implementing customized supply chain solutions to meet the complex needs of its members.  Previously he served as SVP-general manager of MedAssets Alternate Care and prior to that, SVP of enterprise client management-West at MedAssets.  Ned holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business from Fort Lewis College and received his MBA from Colorado State University.

Steve Meurer

Steve Meurer is executive principal, data science and member insights for Vizient.  In this role, Dr. Meurer spends his time with the senior leaders at member organizations to help them understand and use comparative data to motivate improvement.  Prior to the merger, Dr. Meurer was the senior vice president for business development and product innovation, leading the comparative data portfolio at UHC.

Prior to his role at UHC, Dr. Meurer spent 15 years in healthcare administration, including roles as the chief quality & information officer at the DeKalb Regional Healthcare System in Atlanta, and the vice president of operations and performance improvement at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Langhorne, Pennsylvania.   Dr. Meurer has spent time in increasing roles of responsibility at a number of organizations, including the Orlando Regional Healthcare System, University Pittsburgh Healthcare System and BJC Healthcare.  In addition, Dr Meurer has taught quality to Masters students at Loyola (Chicago), Rush, Georgia Tech, Georgia State, and Temple.

Dr. Meurer holds a PhD in Health Services Research from St. Louis University, two Masters from the University of Florida, and a BA in Psychology from the College of the Holy Cross.

Tom is a 25-year veteran of the health care industry. Previously, he was the national sales manager for MediRegs, the leading provider of compliance content and software as a service workflow tool to the health care industry. In addition to driving significant growth in MediRegs’ client base, Tom built a field operations and services team to support over 1,000 hospitals with client retention rates above 95%. He also served multiple senior leadership roles at Allscripts Healthcare Solutions, including vice president of account management and vice president of sales, and helped the company grow from under $20M to over $100M in revenue. Through his work at Allscripts, he supported more than 250 large enterprise health care provider organizations.
