October 1st marked the start of the Electronic Clinical Quality Measures (eCQMs) submission period for the CMS Inpatient Quality Reporting (IQR) program. In this webinar, hear from a hospital who has gone through the 2016 submission process and the lessons learned along the way.

Rockdale Medical Center shares how it created an eCQM strategy that began in Q4 of 2015 with initial planning meetings and developed throughout the year, culminating with a submission to CMS in October. They’ll share practical tips for implementing the same eCQM strategy in your hospital in 2017.

The second half of this presentation will focus on lessons learned from the 2016 submissions. Medisolv will provide a sampling of eCQM results from 100 plus hospitals’ submissions to CMS. They’ll highlight the common threads between these hospitals and share insights into the eCQM submission process. In addition, you’ll gain an understanding about the 2017 eCQM requirements for the IQR program in simple terms so you’ll have a basic understanding of the new changes. Ken McCormick brings over fifteen years of technology experience in health care settings to Medisolv. Prior to joining Medisolv, Ken was Director of Information Systems and Lean for St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, MD. He has a proven track record of successful IT implementations and operation as well as demonstrated excellence in bringing people and technology together to help end users perform successfully in complex operational environments.

Ken is experienced in consulting to executive and senior level management to improve organizational effectiveness through enhanced organizational systems. While serving as Director at St. Agnes, he led numerous advanced clinical implementations including Bedside Medication Verification, Physician Documentation and CPOE. In 2008 St. Agnes received Stage 6 Electronic Medical Record (EMR) adoption recognition from HIMSS Analytics. Ken received a Bachelor of Science in Emergency Medicine from the University of Maryland and a Master of Science in Hospital and Health Services Administration from The George Washington University.

Kristen Beatson is a Registered Nurse and Director of Electronic Measures at Medisolv. She has more than 15 years of experience in the Clinical Informatics field including several years in the hospital environment as a Clinical Analyst managing and supporting advanced clinical application implementations.

In her current position at Medisolv, Kristen has extensive knowledge of the eCQM logic, nomenclature requirements and best practices for data capture and validation. In addition to managing the implementation of ENCOR-e, Medisolv Quality Reporting and Management software solution, Kristen works with clients to assess and analyze clinical workflows, evaluate data for the purpose of validation and compliance and helps clients choose their eCQMs for regulatory submission. Kristen studied Nursing at Clemson University earning a Bachelor’s degree in 1990.

Missi Clark, RN, BSN, is Director of Information Technology at Rockdale Medical Center in Conyers, GA. She has 20 years of experience as a registered nurse with the last 9 years focused on clinical informatics. Missi earned her BSN from the University of South Alabama and is currently working to obtain an MBA from Western Governor’s University. Missi has successfully implemented several vendor applications including the Meditech EHR and clinical documentation modules and has served as the meaningful use coordinator for the facility for the previous 3 years.
